Dr Panchal is a Consultant Respiratory Physician at Glenfield Hospital, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, which is nationally and internationally renowned as a respiratory centre of excellence. He sees private patients at the Spire and Nuffield Leicester Hospitals. He is also an Honorary Associate Professor in Medical Education at the University of Leicester.

Dr Panchal specialises in all aspects of respiratory medicine but has a particular interest in pleural diseases and interventional pulmonology and leads both of these services. Dr Panchal performs thoracic ultrasound, pleural procedures including medical thoracoscopy and indwelling pleural catheters and is an expert in endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) bronchoscopy amongst other respiratory diagnostics.

Dr Panchal is passionate about caring for respiratory patients and runs a busy clinical service that is acknowledged for its delivery of high quality respiratory care in Leicestershire and across the East Midlands.
